"The enemy has the ability to regenerate..."

An article form today's New York Times gives us some insight into how the U.S. occupation is having an incredibly difficult time with snipers and other urban guerrilla tactics being used and improved upon by Iraqi forces. If anything has the ability to force U.S. troops out of Iraq it would the success of these kinds of tactics combined with a continued inability of U.S. troops to respond with superior firepower and technology. Neo-conservatives are even beginning to criticize the war and occupation, jumping a sinking ship, no doubt. Relations between the U.S. and the al-Maliki government continue to be strained, keeping secret the contents and results of recent visits by National Security Advisor Hadley and Director of National Intelligence Negroponte. More and more churches, even evangelical ones of which Bush is a part, are politicking against the failing invasion.
